How we check our guides

Every guide is based on official sources, shows the date it was last checked, and is updated when a company changes its process.

Where our information comes from

We use sources in this order:

  1. The company itself: its help center, account pages, terms and pricing pages.
  2. The company that bills you: for example Apple, Google Play, Amazon or your phone carrier.
  3. Government and regulators: where consumer rights or legal rules matter.
  4. Reputable independent sources: only to fill gaps that official sources leave.

Every guide lists the sources it used at the bottom of the page.

What "Last checked" means

The date shows when we last compared the guide against its official sources. Most guides are checked against official documentation. When someone has also walked through the steps on a real account, the guide says so.

We only change the date when we have actually re-checked the guide.

What we won't publish

If we can't confirm a detail from a reliable source, we leave it out or say it's uncertain. That includes phone numbers: we only list a phone number when it appears on the company's own website.

AI and accuracy disclaimer

Our guides are researched and drafted with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, then checked against the sources listed on each page and reviewed before publication. Even so, AI-assisted content can contain errors or omissions, and companies change their processes without notice.

We make no promise that any information on this site is accurate, complete or current, and we assume no responsibility for its correctness. The information is provided for general guidance only. Keeping guides current

Cancellation processes change. We re-check guides on a regular schedule, and more often for services that change frequently.

Found something out of date?

Every guide has a "Report outdated instructions" link. You can also email hello@cutthecharge.com. We re-check reported guides and correct them as soon as we can.
