How to Cancel LA Fitness

Last checked against LA Fitness's official membership questions page. How we check

Quick answer

Cancel through your LA Fitness online account, at the front desk of a club, or by mailing written notice to P.O. Box 54170, Irvine, CA 92619. Mailed notice should be postmarked at least 5 business days before your next billing date. If it's later, you may be billed once more, and LA Fitness says it will refund that extra billing.

Go to your LA Fitness online account →Opens www.lafitness.com, LA Fitness's official site. CutTheCharge doesn't cancel anything for you.

Before you cancel

  • If your agreement has an initial term of three months or more and you cancel before it ends, a termination fee applies. LA Fitness also says a cancellation during the initial term is effective when that term ends; check your agreement for how this applies to you.
  • You can still use the club for any prepaid time after canceling.
  • Instead of canceling, you may be able to suspend your membership if you won't use the club for more than 30 days. Monthly dues members (with dues above $10) pay $10 a month; paid-in-full members pay $35 for up to 6 months.

I mailed my cancellation but was billed again

If the notice was postmarked within 5 business days of your billing date, LA Fitness says you may be billed once more, and that it will refund that additional billing.

Make sure it worked

  • If you cancel by mail, keep your registered or certified mail receipt, as LA Fitness recommends.
  • Keep the confirmation email, a screenshot of the confirmation screen, or any reference number.
  • Check your next card or bank statement to confirm the charge has stopped.
