How to Cancel Hulu

Quick answer

On a computer or mobile browser, go to your Hulu Account page, select Cancel under Your Subscription, then Cancel Subscription (choose Continue to Cancel if you're offered a pause). You keep access until the end of your current billing cycle. If another company bills you for Hulu, cancel with that company instead.

Before you cancel

  • Canceling your Hulu subscription does not delete your Hulu account or your Disney account.
  • If Hulu bills you, you may be able to pause your subscription for up to 12 weeks instead of canceling.
  • You can remove add-ons or change to a different plan without canceling Hulu.
  • Free trials: you keep access until the trial ends, and won't be charged. Hulu + Live TV free trials end immediately when you cancel.
  • If you signed up for a Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle through Disney+, manage it through Disney+. If you signed up for a Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle through HBO Max, manage it through HBO Max.

How to cancel Hulu

Cancel on the Hulu website

Use this if Hulu bills you. Works on a computer or a phone's web browser.

  1. Go to your Hulu Account page and log in.
  2. Select Cancel under Your Subscription.
  3. If you're offered a pause, select Continue to Cancel.
  4. Select Cancel Subscription.

Your Account page should then say "Your subscription will be canceled." Hulu also emails a confirmation. Keep it for your records.

Cancel through Apple (iPhone or iPad)

Use this if Apple bills you for Hulu.

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Hulu.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down.

If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled.

Cancel through Google Play (Android)

Use this if Google Play bills you for Hulu.

  1. Open subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select Hulu.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

Uninstalling the Hulu app does not cancel a Google Play subscription.

Billed by someone else?

Important

Hulu can be billed by other companies. If one of them bills you, the steps to cancel depend on that company.

  • To see who bills you, check the Payment Information section of your Hulu Account page.
  • Billing partners Hulu lists include Amazon, Apple, Comcast Xfinity, Disney, Google, Kroger, HBO Max, Optimum, Roku, Spotify, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Common problems

I can't cancel on my Account page

You may be billed by a partner. Check the Payment Information section of your Account page and cancel with that company. If Hulu bills you and it still doesn't work, contact Hulu support.

I canceled but I'm not sure it worked

Your Account page should read "Your subscription will be canceled," and Hulu sends a confirmation email. If you don't see either, try the steps again.

Refunds and your final bill

  • Hulu's subscriber agreement says it does not refund or credit partly used subscription periods, except as required by law, although it may do so case by case.
  • After canceling, you keep access until the end of your current billing cycle and aren't charged again.

Make sure it worked

  • Your Account page shows "Your subscription will be canceled."
  • Keep Hulu's confirmation email.
  • Keep the confirmation email, a screenshot of the confirmation screen, or any reference number.
  • Check your next card or bank statement to confirm the charge has stopped.
